Mount Buller has long been regarded as one of Australia’s top ski resorts, with plenty of powder for beginners and pros alike to enjoy come the winter months.

From June through to October, skiers and snowboarders of all difficulty levels chain up their tires and ascend the majestic mountain, hitting the plentiful slopes and kicking back at some truly luxe alpine accommodation afterwards!

Mount Buller is also revered for its accessibility, being the closest Aussie ski resort to an international airport (three hours from Melbourne). There are numerous interstate highways that get you there, including the Melba, Goulburn Valley, Hume and Maroondah highways – you just have to plan your route from your location!

These awesome ski-based experiences await your arrival:

The slopes (duh)

Mount Buller boasts some of Australia’s best powder, with high quality snowfall producing some of the best runs you could hope to find in the whole land. Whether skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing, you can trust that the powder will be tip top and you’ll have an amazing time out on the Buller slopes!

Kick back at an alpine spa

Skiing and snowboarding can be trying on the body, and so there is no better place to relax after a big day on the slopes than The Breathtaker Hotel and Spa, where uber-relaxing treatments await your weary limbs.

With everything from massages to water therapy, body scrubs and beauty therapies all performed with natural Aussie ingredients, you can trust that you’ll be in a state of blissful awareness after toughing out on the powder.

Get on the chair lift

Of course you have to take the chairlift! The Northside Express is one of the most scenic in the country, offering incredible views of the surrounding mountain as you ascend to its glorious heights! Seriously, as spectacular as chairlifts are, this one is a real pearler – don’t miss it.

Watch up a film in Australia’s highest cinema

The Mount Buller Cinema is the highest in Australia, making it a charming little place to watch a movie after your big day skiing or snowboarding on this ever-majestic mountain.

This cosy cinema is equipped with the latest movies for you to enjoy in some nice and warm surroundings, creating a charming little activity to enjoy once you’re done and dusted with the powder…
