    Hotham and Dinner Plain offer over 35 kilometres of trails, with some circuits reaching up to 15 kilometres. Trails can start from the village or Dinner Plain, and there is a free shuttle bus to reach further circuits.

    Mount Hotham has excellent snowboarding runs that are ideal for beginners. Take your time with a beginner lesson before heading out on your own to practise your new skills.

  • Snowshoeing

    From Thursdays to Tuesdays during the snow season, husky sledding is available at Mount Hotham. There are different tours, giving you the chance to pat and cuddle the dogs.

    As you take a break from all the outdoor activities, you can explore the variety of shops. From luxury clothing to snow gear, Mount Hotham boasts unique shops.

How to get to Mount Hotham

The drive from Melbourne to Mount Hotham takes about 4.5 hours. Before embarking on your journey, ensure your car is in the best condition for driving up the mountain. Ideally, your car’s tyres and pressure should be in good shape, along with the battery, fluid levels, brakes, and windscreen wipers.

To reach the slopes safely, your car must have diamond-patterned wheel chains on the tyres during the snow season. If you are concerned about getting up the mountain, there are coaches, transfers, and taxis available to assist you.
