When you’re without a car you might think it’s hard to get around a city. With Melbourne, there are so many ways to get around that you don’t need a car!
Melbourne is an easy city to get around without having a car. The public transport takes you across Victoria. From trains and trams to buses. However, sometimes if you want to do a particular activity, public transport might not be the answer. This is when tours a great to see those places and do activities. Doing a tour avoids the stress of public transport. This way you don’t have to work out how to get from one place to another.
Mornington Peninsula
The Mornington Peninsula has it all! Views, relaxation, food and wine. The Mornington Peninsula area is home to about 60 wineries, and you can book a winery tour to visit a couple! Or you go for a swim in the hot springs. Spend hours relaxing in the bathing pools while overlooking the views. The best option to get to the Mornington Peninsula is to book a tour. That way you can just sit back and relax while exploring the area.
National Gallery of Victoria
The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is Australia’s oldest and most visited art museum. It’s easy to get to the NGV by public transport. The NGV is located near Flinders Street Station on St Kilda Road. Take a train to Flinders Street Station and walk to NGV or get any of the trams going down St Kilda Road. There is a tram stop right in front of the NGV which is called Arts Precinct.
Yarra Valley
Yarra Valley is one of the most well-known wine regions in Victoria. In the Yarra Valley, you can try some award-winning wines. You can take a train and bus to the Yarra Valley, but it’s highly recommended to book a tour. A tour will take you to some of the most amazing wineries in the region.
Melbourne Skydeck
Melbourne Skydeck is an observation deck at Eureka Tower. The Skydeck is the southern hemisphere’s highest observation deck! Melbourne Skydeck is a great way to view Melbourne City. The Skydeck is located in Southbank, across the Yarra River from Flinders Street Station. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the Melbourne Skydeck from Flinders Street Station.
Phillip Island
Phillip Island is best known for the Penguin Parade. This is where you can watch the little penguins waddle up the beach at sunset. The easiest way to watch the penguins at Phillip Island is by doing a tour.
St Kilda
St Kilda has a lot to offer! Check out the popular St Kilda beach, enjoy a drink on Acland Street and have fun at Luna Park. The best way to St Kilda is a tram. Take any of the 3/3a, 16 or 96 routes and get off at Luna Park or the Esplanade.
Great Ocean Road
The Great Ocean Road is a 243 kilometre road along the coast. The best way to see the Great Ocean Road is through a tour. There are fantastic attractions to see along the way, such as the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and Memorial Arch. You could visit Apollo Bay and Torquay, or you can try to spot some wild koalas in Kennett River.
